The Eibonvale Press sale of earlier titles is almost over – ending on the 18th. The following titles are extremely low in stock in both bindings:

Ultrameta – Douglas Thompson
Sylvow – Douglas Thompson
Automatic Safe Dog – Jet McDonald
Where Are We Going – Edited by Allen ashley
A Glimpse of the Numinous – Jeff Gardiner
Feather – David Rix

So if you have any interest in any of those then I suggest you don’t delay. Once they run out they will be back to full price!

In addition to that, it is worth noting that both the Thompson books are down to single copies in hardcover and as far as I can tell these are the last ‘first edition’ copies to be available. The second edition came along when slightly updated versions were released, but there is not much difference between them. However, if you care about such things, this is probably the last chance to get a copy of either book without ‘Second Edition’ written inside.

Congratulations to Alison Littlewood, who has bagged not one but TWO places in the Mammoth Book of Best New Horror 24, edited by Stephen Jones.  This includes a piece in Eibonvale’s anthology Where are we Going? edited by Allen Ashley and The Eyes of Water from Spectral Press.  As well as being bloody exciting news for Alison and for Allen Ashley no doubt, this is pretty exciting here as well, since it is still one of the first time the maverick Eibonvale has found its way into one of these ‘best-of’ anthologies.  Time to raise a little glass of something (maybe sloe gin?) in a vague but happy toast to lively and brilliant literature in general I think!

Oh and also <commercial> don’t forget that Where Are We Going? is currently available as part of the sale Eibonvale Press is running!  </commercial>  (Heheh – sorry for the nerdy humour!)

Announcing the grand Eibonvale Press Spring Sale – a whopping 40% off most of our older titles!!!

Yeah – I never was much good at hype was I, but I need to clear some shelf space so I have made a special page on the Eibonvale website where you can buy most of our earlier titles at a very nice bargain. I want these books out of here so make the most of it! In some cases though there aren’t many of these titles available in this offer – in some cases only ONE copy. This offer will last until 18th May or until titles run out.

Some of you have been going potty lately about Tallest Stories, Defeated Dogs etc – here’s a chance to try out some more Eibonvale material, even some from way back at the dawn of time when some strange guy (me) first sat down and thought “hey, maybe it would be nice to make a book!”  BOY does that feel a long time ago now . . .

Remember these order buttons are for UK customers only. Anyone anywhere else talk to me and I will work out a good deal for you.

Following on from the massive success of our pre-order promotion for Tallest Stories and An Emporium of Automata, we are continuing with a very special offer for Defeated Dogs. Customers who order one of our 26 promotional preorders will receive:

  • A hardcover copy of Defeated Dogs by Quentin S Crisp hand lettered and personalized as you like
  • An exclusive chapbook containing the author’s new short story The Magical Universe
  • A unique bookmark/sculpture created by the artist Miranda Keyes made out of the author’s hair

Yes – you did read that correctly. The author’s hair. Close examination of the cover of the book will reveal two separate Quentin Crisps, what you might call a before and after image. When I asked for unusual promotion ideas, he was quick to offer both this unusual resource and even suggested an artist to take on the project. Quentin sacrificing his hair for the project and an artist who (among other things) makes jewelry out of fish – all this was something I couldn’t possibly resist! The bookmarks are made by setting the hair within crystal resin and I am still not sure whether to call them bookmarks or beautiful and strange sculptures.

In addition to a truly unusual offer, this also helps underline the fact that Quentin’s writing is far from just neo-classical. He is a highly experimental and original voice, and I am very pleased to offer extras that help emphasize that.

This package is available to order now.  Click here.

Well – how about that!  I am not used to such wild goings on here at Eibonvale.  But our Special promotional pre-orders of Rhys Hughes’ Tallest Stories have now totally sold out in just one day and I have withdrawn the order buttons.  The book will become available in its usual unsigned form soon.

However, there are still a few copies of D P Watt’s stunning collection An Emporium of Automata available.  A marvellous book originally published by Ex Occidente and out of print. The same deal applies here.  You can pick up a lettered copy specially personalised by the author with a nice laid in bookplate, and you can also combine it with other Eibonvale Titles for a special price.  Click here to place your order!

After a very crowded hour or so, there are just 6 copies left of our special personalised ’lettered’ edition of Tallest Stories with extra free gifts!  Looks like we might have a total sell-out of this promotion.

If it comes to that, Z is a pretty coveted letter as well, with a nice bundle of goodies accompanying it!

It’s 6 o clock – that means that as this blog post is published, I will be opening the ordering page for the very special promotional pre-orders for Rhys Hughes’s Tallest Stories and D P Watts An Emporium of Automata.

Click here to read more and go to the order page:

Just to recap, the first 26 copies of each title will be specially lettered and personalised.  In addition, Rhys Hughes has provided some amazing material to give away, so each copy of Tallest Stories will also come with a bundle of original hand-written manuscripts and/or drawings by the author in his uniquely strange, quirky style. There’s also a few rare chapbooks thrown in for good measure. The biggest prize is letter A, which will come with a complete notebook filled with Rhys’s jottings and stories.  That is 26 handwritten stories, including a few not yet published anywhere at all.

Tallest Stories Promotions

These books will be available on a first come first served basis and as soon as the 26 copies are shifted, I will be reverting the ordering to the usual unsigned copies.  So don’t delay.  And if you move really fast, you might be in with a chance to bag the coveted ‘A’ copy!

Massive Eibonvale Press Sale Now Online

Posted: January 27, 2012 by eibonvale in News, Special Offers
Tags: ,

Hi everyone!  I have recently launched a massive sale featuring 30% or so off most eibonvale titles, including some of our most popular items.

The reason is that I and the press will shortly be moving, switching from Kentish Town to Hackney, London. I keep a certain stock of books to hand, even though most orders go through the distributors, and I am offering a sale now in an attempt to reduce that stock a bit. After all, every book sold is one less thing to turn my hair grey when it comes to moving!

So far, we have not offered many special deals like this so this is a good chance to get some books with a nice discount.  Quantities of these are sometimes very limited – in some cases a boxful, in some cases only one copy (first come first served!).  So pop over to the new sale page on the Eibonvale website and take a look.

Please note that as these books are so reduced and as I am posting them myself, I cannot offer free shipping! However, I can still offer some nice reductions, especially for larger quantities! See the website for more information.

Offer available until 29th February 2012

Feather by David Rix

Our two latest titles, The Silver Wind by Nina Allan and Feather by David Rix are now shipping following their launch at FantasyCon 2011!  We have already talked and raved about these titles considerably in previous posts, so I will restrain myself this time.  We are expecting interesting results from these two though – The Silver Wind recently became the first Eibonvale title ever to be mentioned by a large mainstream newspaper when the Telegraph included it in a round-up of interesting sci-fi books.

The Silver Wind by Nina Allan

But what I wanted to announce today is that we are celebrating the launch with a set of attractive special offers for these titles and other related ones.  These are combination deals, which we have never tried before.  Special prices when you buy two books.  You can get a nice discount if you buy both these new titles together or if you add one of the authors’ earlier titles, A Thread of Truth and What the Giants were Saying.  This offer will be available until the 31st October 6th November.
